R&D Engineer Internship

Your mission

TKH Airport Solutions in Lippstadt is leading the way in airfield ground lighting (AGL) innovation, revolutionizing the aviation industry with cutting-edge sensor technologies. As an Engineering Intern specializing in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or Mechatronics, you will gain hands-on experience in sensor integration, system development, and innovative lighting solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to develop technical skills in a dynamic, international environment while making a meaningful impact on advanced airport systems.

You will work closely with our engineering team, supporting projects involving sensor design, testing, and integration within our AGL systems. Tasks will include assisting in the development of sensor-driven solutions, data analysis, prototyping, and providing technical documentation. This internship is structured to provide a deep understanding of engineering processes within a global technology leader. With guidance from experienced professionals, you'll have the freedom to take initiative and contribute your own ideas.

We are looking for

We are seeking a highly motivated and independent intern currently studying a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field. A strong interest in sensor technology and innovation, combined with a proactive attitude and the ability to manage tasks effectively, is essential.

Your profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• General knowledge of sensor systems, electronics, and technical project development.
• Independent, driven, and proactive with the ability to work autonomously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in English; German language skills are a plus.
• Detail-oriented with analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with technical software tools (e.g., MATLAB, CAD, or similar); programming skills are a plus.
• Team-oriented mindset, open to collaboration and sharing ideas.
