For an international Food Ingredients Distributor working in Europe and Africa we are looking for the

Bakery & Confectionery Application Technologist m / f / d

Applications include chocolate coatings compounds baked goods (including

savoury snacks) bakery enzymes confectionery (e.g. gummies dragees

candies) fine bakery glazes fillings bars)

  • The Application Technologist serves as our expert in both the theoretical and practical aspects of a specific application area.
  • This role plays a pivotal part in identifying market trends and translating them into recipes concepts and campaigns.
  • The Application Technologist develops expertise in new ingredients explores their synergies with other components and creates applicationfocused knowledge.
  • Additionally the Technologist design and deliver application training programs and client seminars.
  • The Application Technologist act as the primary point of contact for our Technical Sales Managers (TSMs) requiring application support to advance key projects.

Location : can be home office based Western or Eastern Europe

Tasks

1. Technical Support and Development

  • Develop out concepts campaigns and recipes by leveraging a wide range of our ingredients while tailoring recipes and processes to align with local preferences and capabilities.
  • Provide technical support on ingredients formulations processes and applications for selected key projects (as designated by the SBM) to enhance service levels and deliver added value.
  • 2. Training and Knowledge Sharing

  • Enhance the technical expertise of TSMs by designing and conducting training programs (focused on applications or ingredients) and supplying indepth technical insights.
  • Collaborate with other Application Technologists and SBMs to identify and emphasize global trends.
  • Document and disseminate learnings from case studies industrial trials ingredient testing and similar initiatives.
  • Create and share value propositions for selected new and existing ingredients.
  • 3. Client Interaction and Trials

  • Design trial protocols and provide technical expertise for client visits our labs
  • Visit and support key clients conducting trials at their facilities to advance critical projects.
  • Deliver highlevel technical support in close collaboration with and under the guidance of the sales team.4. Supplier and Regulatory Engagement
  • Maintain direct engagement with the laboratories and technical service teams of suppliers to stay updated on the latest ingredient developments.
  • Assess and provide recommendations regarding new suppliers or ingredients.
  • Stay informed on EU regulatory and labeling requirements.
  • Requirements

  • Degree in Food Technology or a comparable field with 5 years of experience in production or product development.
  • Alternatively vocational high school certification with 20 years of experience in product development across a broad range of ingredients in relevant segments.
  • Indepth technological expertise in application areas within covered segments.
  • Proven ability to design and execute complex experiments.
  • Commitment to offering solutions and working with valueadded ingredients.
  • A creative innovative mindset with a proven ability to think outside the box.
  • Strong communication proactivity analytical thinking and a supportive approach.
  • Excellent English proficiency.
  • Willingness to travel (approximately 60% including regular presence in our labs

    Applications include soups sauces dressings emulsified sauces ready meals

    savory dishes snacks sausages hams injected meats fish products spreads

    and plantbased alternatives.
