focusing on Germany and Central Western Europe to join in the Market Analysis team in UPM Energy. Position could be located either in Helsinki or Augsburg.

What you will do

• Assume main responsibility for our Central West Europe (CWE) electricity market modelling and price view
• Update price forecast in the short-term, mid-term and long-term horizons
• Develop market models and related processes
• Prepare and present fundamental power and commodity market analyses, providing valuable input for decision-making in production and consumption optimization, hedging, and trading activities
• Contribute to energy commodity analysis with a focus in gas and carbon markets, depending on your experience and interest

Who you are

• You have a university degree in engineering, math, physics or economics
• You have some years of work experience from a relevant field, for example from CWE electricity markets, energy commodity markets, data science, mathematical modelling or optimisation
• You master the basics of data science and the principles in the electricity and energy commodity markets
• You are motivated, able to learn and see the big picture
• You have great communication, co-operation and presentation skills
• You have experience in data science (Python, SQL), fundamental simulation software (Plexos), and visualisation platforms (PowerBI)
• You are fluent in English; knowledge of German would be valuable
