Senior IT Engineer - Data Services & Operations

YOUR MISSION

Contribute to the reliable operation and continuous improvement of data services used across the space and Earth observation community, including :

Daily monitoring to ensure smooth system operations

Investigate anomalies, opening reports, and supporting resolution workflows

Validate new software releases, running automated tests , and preparing release reports

Develop scripts and small tools to support operations and end users

Update documentation, procedures , and knowledge bases

Contribute to KPIs and performance reporting

Participate in coordination meetings and supporting service evolution activities.

YOUR EXPERIENCE & TALENTS

Solid background in engineering, systems operations, or data‑driven environments

Experience working in Unix / Linux environments as part of operational or engineering tasks

Proficiency in scripting, especially Python and Shell, applied to automation , monitoring or operational tooling

Know-how in s oftware development practices, including Java, SQL, REST APIs , and source control using Git and CI / CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab)

Hands-on experience with operational support tools , including Jira and Confluence , and ability to produce clear technical documentation

Experience in software testing and validation , including automated and non‑regression tests for new releases

Knowledge of container and cloud‑native technologies (Docker, VMs, Kubernetes), familiarity with automated testing frameworks (Playwright, JMeter, JUnit), and an understanding of satellite / Earth‑Observation data formats such as NetCDF or GeoTIFF would be an advantage

Experience in engineering or operational roles within complex technical environments , ideally in the space, satellite data, or Earth‑observation domain

Excellent command of English , with the ability to communicate clearly and confidently in an international, highly technical environment
