Your role
The Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC) is recruiting a Specialist Librarian for its Acquisition Team.
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Specialist Librarian to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing acquisitions and administration of both print and electronic resources.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage the acquisition of databases, print and electronic periodicals, books and e-books, ensuring timely delivery and availability. Propose and implement tools and process improvements
- Apply and verify compliance with legal, financial and procurement procedures, ensuring consistency with institutional guidelines and with the Consortium Luxembourg
- Negotiate and oversee licensing agreements for electronic resources, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain an up-to-date collection that meets user needs and supports organisational goals, and also with other entities outside of the University
- Produce and compile reports and statistics on acquisitions and budget monitoring
- Monitor and assess the usage of electronic resources to inform renewal and acquisition decisions
Your profile
Master's Degree in Library / Information / Documentation Science or equivalent by work experienceSeveral years of experience in an academic library, with at least 1 year in a similar position being an advantageDemonstrated experience in library acquisitions, particularly with electronic resourcesExperience in managing tenders and drafting technical specifications for procurement proceduresFamiliarity with integrated library systems (knowledge of Alma is an advantage) and electronic resource management toolsUnderstanding of financial management, budgeting and cost analysis for resource acquisitionStrong knowledge of licensing practices and compliance with regulations for digital resourcesExcellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detailProficiency in managing procurement processes and vendor relationsEffective communication skills to liaise with colleagues, providers and other stakeholdersFlexible, multi-tasking, and able to prioritize. Able to work autonomously, rigorously, and methodicallyTeam spirit, dynamism, and sense of initiativeFluent in English and French (spoken & written).
