Location : Frankfurt am Main Full-time Permanent Position 50% Remote
We are recruiting on behalf of a leading global financial organization. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Network Engineer (f / m / d) to join their international IT team and help maintain and develop their enterprise network infrastructure.
As a Network Engineer (f / m / d) you will be responsible for keeping the organizations global network running smoothly and securely. You will collaborate with Senior Engineers and Network Solution Architects to manage a complex environment including Cisco Palo Alto Check Point F5 and advanced monitoring systems.
You will operate across two key areas :
- Network team : managing LAN MAN WAN wireless networks internet connectivity load balancing (F5) and network security
- Data Center team : managing datacenter facilities and branch office technical infrastructure
In this role youll ensure high-performance network operations contribute to new IT initiatives and maintain consistent standards across the organization collaborating with teams locally and globally.
Tasks
Operate monitor and maintain global network infrastructureTroubleshoot network issues and escalate when necessarySupport IT projects and ensure network-related deliverables are completed on timeProvide guidance to IT teams on daily network operationsProactively optimize network and datacenter environmentsMaintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentationAssist with hardware and software lifecycle managementImplement automation processes to improve efficiency where applicableMentor junior engineers and act as an escalation point for critical issuesParticipate in on-call rotation including off-hours and weekends and support datacenter visitsCollaborate with IT teams across regions to maintain operational excellenceRequirements
Strong understanding of TCP / IP networking routing (static & dynamic including BGP) and Layer 2 protocols (STP LACP LLDP)Experience with Palo Alto and Check Point firewalls (Check Point CCSA) desirableFamiliarity with F5 load balancers or similar solutionsKnowledge of Infoblox and network access control tools (e.g. Forescout) is advantageousExperience in large-scale network environments and IT project deliveryProactive self-motivated and eager to continuously learn new technologiesHands-on experience with Cisco networking devices; knowledge of ACI or SD-Access is a plusITIL Foundation certification preferredFluent English required (min.
