The Role

Black Semiconductor GmbH is looking for a  Automation Engineer - AMHS (f / m / d) to lead the introduction and implementation of Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) at our 300mm Wafer Fabrication plant in Aachen, Germany. In this role, you will drive the selection and integration of AMHS technologies, ensuring they meet the requirements for innovation, speed, accuracy, and reliability. You will work closely with operations and technology teams to define system specifications, perform layout assessments, and manage the entire AMHS implementation process

The ideal candidate has experience in AMHS implementation within semiconductor fabs, with strong expertise in SEMI standards, robotics, and project management. They should be highly self-driven, innovative, and possess excellent communication and leadership skills

• Lead the pioneering introduction of Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) in our 300mm Wafer Fabrication plant in Aachen, Germany
• Explore and benchmark current AMHS technologies to ensure they meet the requirements for innovation, speed, accuracy, and reliability in the shop floor
• Drive the successful execution and implementation of AMHS within our new 300mm Wafer Fab
• Collaborate with operations and technology teams to analyze and define the AMHS system’s functional and non-functional business requirements and specifications
• Assess the shop floor and define the necessary layout and system design for AMHS, including modeling and simulation to determine the right transport counts, congestion predictors, and bottlenecks
• Initiate and lead collaboration with AMHS & MCS solution providers to meet implementation goals using Project Management best practices
• Perform necessary conceptualization, prototyping, pilot testing, and engineering design to achieve the proposed implementation
• Establish and lead the support teams to ensure smooth 24x7 operation of the AMHS implementation
