Role Overview
The Procurement Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing and managing procurement processes that support the company’s growth trajectory. This hands-on leader will manage sourcing, supplier relationships, and purchasing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services critical to R&D, clinical, and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and growth plans
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities for laboratory supplies, raw materials, equipment, and services
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers while maintaining strong relationships with existing vendors
- Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance
- Collaborate closely with R&D, operations, finance, and quality teams to forecast demand and ensure material availability
- Monitor supplier performance and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate procurement records and support audit readiness
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes and tools
- Manage procurement budgets and contribute to cost control efforts
Qualifications
3+ years of procurement or sourcing experience, preferably in biotech, pharma, or life sciences startupsExperience working in fast-paced, high-growth environments with changing prioritiesStrong negotiation and vendor management skillsUnderstanding of supply chain needs in R&D and clinical settings is a plusExcellent communication and collaboration skillsProficiency with procurement software or ERP systems preferredBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Life Sciences, or related fiel
