Innovative X-Ray Marker for Balloncatheter

To make balloon catheters visible under X-ray during use in the body, platinum sleeves are usually fixed onto the catheter shaft. The material and process are comparatively expensive, which is why alternative methods can be employed. One possible approach is printing the catheter shafts with metallic inks. The aim of the work is, on the one hand, to develop the printing and curing processes for the catheter shafts, and on the other hand, to investigate their functionality in vitro.
