Job Description
The Field Application Engineer (FAE) acts as the technical bridge between customers, sales, and product teams for the Renesas 365 platform. You’ll play a pivotal role in demonstrating how Renesas’ digital software ecosystem enables customers to design, simulate, and collaborate more efficiently.
This role combines deep technical expertise with strong customer engagement skills. You’ll support Account Executives in the pre-sales process, deliver product demonstrations, develop tailored solutions, and ensure successful implementation and onboarding.
- Partner with Account Executives to identify customer needs and map them to Renesas 365 solutions.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements for EDA/PCB design tools.
- Provide deep technical guidance and ROI justification throughout the sales process.
- Collaborate with Product Management and R&D teams to relay customer feedback and influence roadmap priorities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, workflows, and training materials for internal and customer use.
- Support customer onboarding and ensure smooth handoff to Customer Success and Technical Support teams.
- Stay current on Renesas 365 feature releases, competitive products, and industry best practices to deliver credible expertise in every customer interaction.
- Represent Renesas at industry events, workshops, and user groups as a trusted technical expert.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in EDA/PCB design, electronic system design, or CAD/CAE application engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Altium Designer, Altium 365, or comparable design platforms.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical details into customer value.
- Comfortable working in both pre-sales and post-sales environments, collaborating with sales and product teams.
- Passion for technology, problem-solving, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline required; advanced degree a plus.
