The Network Operations Lead will be responsible for managing the company's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, Wireless Access Points (WAP), Load Balancers (LB), and Wireless LAN Controllers (WLC). This role involves ensuring optimal network performance, conducting regular system audits, and addressing any network issues promptly. The Network Operations Lead will work closely with the Network Architect to implement and support networking solutions, ensuring the infrastructure meets the company's requirements and industry standards. Should be proficient in both English and German language.

Location : Hamburg, Germany

Key Responsibilities :

Network Management

  • Manage and maintain network components, including switches, routers, WAPs, LBs, and WLCs.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure systems are operating optimally.
  • Conduct regular system audits to ensure network integrity and security.
  • Address and resolve any network-related issues promptly.

Implementation and Support

  • Work closely with the Network Architect to implement new networking solutions.
  • Ensure that network infrastructure meets the company's requirements and industry standards.
  • Install, configure, and support network equipment, including firewalls and VPNs.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve network issues.
  • Optimization and Security

  • Identify opportunities to improve network performance and reliability.
  • Implement network security measures to protect against unauthorized access and vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to ensure cohesive and secure IT infrastructure.
  • Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and detailed network documentation.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on network performance and issues.
  • Document and track network changes and updates.
  • Qualifications

    Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or a related role.
  • Experience with managing network components such as switches, routers, WAPs, LBs, and WLCs.
  • Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of network protocols and technologies.
  • Proficient in network troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Experience with network security practices and tools.
  • Excellent communication in and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Certifications Desirable

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or equivalent certification (preferred).
  • Other relevant certifications in network security or management (preferred).
