For the greater areas Hamburg, Berlin, Zürich, Steiermark, Rotterdam, we are looking for local based Technical Electrical / Instrumentation high voltage cable Inspectors, on a freelance basis for ad hoc Inspections at local manufacturers.

1. Scope :

Independent Third Party Supervision of Cable Quality Assurance at the Production Site according to the rules and regulations of cable quality assurance at the production site on behalf of the client during the production of the HVAC submarine cables.

2. Functions relates to :

  • Internally : Operations Manager - Coordinators - Technical Manager
  • Externally : Suppliers - Clients

    • 3. Tasks (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) :

  • Production supervision and quality control during the fabrication of the HVAC-submarine cables including all necessary accessories
  • Attendance and supervision of cable tests during and after the cable production
  • Supporting during cable failure investigation and supporting by the improvement of the production processes after failure evaluation, if needed
  • Daily reports of the production with highlighting of each abnormalities if available
  • Active assistance by preparing NCR (Non-conformance reports), if needed
  • In case of a non-conformance, Client shall be informed immediately
  • Weekly / Monthly reports of the overall quality situation at the factory
  • A summary report for the whole supervision
  • Drafting a time schedule with the detailed supervision activities based on the customer production time plan. The time schedule shall be approved by Client

    • 4. Competences and experiences :

    A minimum of 5 years employed by manufacturer(s) or constructor(s) of the type of products or materials to be inspected. Fluent Chinese and English knowledge both in spoken and written, German knowledge desirable.

    Educational qualifications in relevant disciplines (one or more of the following) :

  • University degree
  • National Higher Education
  • Chartered Engineer

    • RESPONSIBILITY

  • Experience in HV XLPE cable production, ideally in HVAC or HVDC Submarine cable and their application
  • Long-time and detailed experience in process- and failures analyse of production processes, ideally for XLPE cable production
  • Very good expertise and experience about HV test techniques, their corresponding standards and high voltage test equipment’s
  • Very good knowledge about insulation materials and methods for failure analysis e.g. FMCEA
  • Good Communication skills
  • Language capability - English language is mandatory.
