Task Responsibilities :
The Cargolux Ground Engineering Department provides support in the field of Ground Operations and heavy & offsize cargo loadability to the global network of Cargolux. This expert team has versatile responsibilities, going from organizing special cargo uplifts (e.g. satellite transportation to Kourou, urgently required project cargo, prototype transportation, MRI machines), over to leading and assisting various innovation projects.

Main responsibilities :
- Evaluate and organize special charter uplifts (loadability, load plans and build-up plans)
- Evaluate loadability solutions for the transport of heavy and outsized cargo, including shoring and lashing solutions
- Ensure customers' requirements are met and special handling instructions are communicated and followed
- Potentially helping / assisting loading and unloading of heavy / offsize cargo
- Ensure compliance in regard to Safety within the provisions of the Ground Ops Manual and other corporate policies and all legal requirements (e.g. compliance with Boeing Manuals, EASA regulations, FAA regulations)
- Support implementation of new / updated guidelines, regulations and procedures
- Ensure optimal use of resources (equipment and infrastructure)
- Assist and train new staff on the job
- Contribute to team effort and performance
- Liaise with Network Management for coordination of turn arounds for heavy, offsize and / or overhang cargo
- Prepare / execute test loadings
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge
Essential Requirements For The Position :
General school leaving certificate of secondary education or equivalent (e.g. A-Level, BAG, Abitur)At least 5 years working experience as qualified loading staff on B747-8F / 400FProven practical experience in loading of heavy and offsize cargoProfound knowledge of cargo loading systemsAdvanced knowledge in cargo handling and its related proceduresBe proactive, safety- and quality-oriented, take initiatives in a dynamic organizationCustomer and result / solution oriented, service-minded and global thinkingAction orientated, having the ability to take on new challenges with a sense of urgencyFeeling comfortable to work in a team as well as autonomouslyDealing effectively with complexity and having good problem-solving skillsBeing able to take decisions within tight deadlinesProficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook)Fluency in written and spoken English, other languages are a distinct advantageWorking Conditions :
Full-time position based in LuxembourgOccasional travel might be requiredA certificate of good conduct (Casier judiciaire, Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis) will be required in case of positive selection.Category of the position will be based on the experience of the candidate (CAT 6 or CAT7)
