Hauptaufgaben

Conducts investigations to determine as-built quality, accuracy, and conditions associated with construction modifications and major modernization projects before entering the information into the drawing library / Engineering Design Database. Updates the project drawings library / database and prepares annual updates to the electronic installation base information maps and building floor plans from as-built drawings of projects executed by various DPW divisions and other outside agencies such as the Corps of Engineers, Job Order Contractors (JOC), RCO Contractors and Bauamt. Assembles required data, drawings, and details to ensure accurate depiction of existing conditions. Coordinates drawings, details, and data to ensure integration and accuracy before updating the library / database. Provides CAD as-built drawings of buildings and infrastructure to DPW personnel, the Corps of Engineers, Architectural-Engineering firms, design and construction contractors, and privatized utilities companies and Bauamt. Updates facility and infrastructure drawings based on As-built drawings. Performs updates to site maps and plans. Creates and updates space management drawings in ePRISMS, the Army's enterprise system on Space Management. Develops and enforces a standard operating procedure (SOP) outlining CAD / GIS standards incorporating the latest Department of Defense (DoD) Architect / Engineer / Contractor (A / E / C) CAD Standard as outlined by USACE CAD / BIM Technology Center and Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE). Maintains a thorough knowledge of CAD / GIS operational and software capabilities, standardization policies and guidelines. Reviews engineering drawings prepared by others to develop, maintain, and share CAD files containing repetitive type drawings, details, and features. Advises the engineering staff concerning available files and assists in selecting and implementing data required to create accurate and complete project drawings. Performs technical engineering drafting and design for a variety of facility types including architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and space management disciplines. Working from objectives outlined by an engineer or architect, develops designs and layouts for a variety of sustainment, restoration and modernization (SRM) projects based on standard designs, sketches from engineers or architects, and site surveys that they conduct Develops architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical layouts along with design details and specifications / notes. Work includes CAD / GIS and graphic design presentations utilizing programs including Bentley MicroStation, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Professional, and MS Office. Develops and provides custom electronic maps, drawings, and other graphic products as required. Manages and maintains the DPW filing system and equipment for existing as-built drawings and data storage files including scanning existing drawings and text files for electronic recovery. Converts files from various format rasters to vector, and dgn to dwg and dgn to dxf formats utilizing various software applications. Ensures that electronic drawings in the CAD library / database meet DoD CAD / GIS standards. Prepares specification statements and requirements to be inserted into contracts to ensure all electronic drawing submittals from contractors and other sources meet DPW and DoD CAD standards. Develops and maintains the drawing library / database including creation of a multifunctional database to link drawings by file numbers. Performs in-house reproduction services.

C-6 :

BASIC REQUIREMENT / GRUNDANFORDERUNG : Completed educational program in Engineering Drafting and completed further education / certification as "CAD Fachkraft" / Abgeschlossene Berufsausbildung und Weiterbildung zur CAD Fachkraft.

E&T Level II : PLUS 2 years of experience in Engineering Drafting / PLUS 2 Jahre Erfahrung als Bauzeichner / in.

Exception for internal applicants : Employees, who have 1 year of experience with the US Forces at the C-5a grade level in Engineering Drafting, and who meet the Basic education requirement are qualified for C-6 grade.

Sonderregelung fuer innerbetriebliche Bewerber / innen : Arbeitnehmer / innen, die 1 Jahr als Bauzeichner / innen bei den Stationierungsstreitkraeften in der Gehaltsgruppe C-5a gearbeitet haben und die Grundausbildungsanforderung erfüllen, qualifizieren für die Gehaltsgruppe C-6
