Linux Security Engineer (m / f / d)

As the Linux Security Engineer, you will play a key role in Security SW infrastructure of our drones within the Linux Team. With our world-class team, currently comprising six members, you will play a central role in pushing the boundaries of drone technology. ​

You will collaborate closely with all parts of the SW departments to ensure the holistic security concept. ​

What is your Day to Day Mission :

Develop and implement E2E security solutions for drone systems, focusing on secure boot, encrypted communication, and data protection ​

Design and maintain secure Linux-based embedded systems using Yocto Project tools ​

Perform security assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analysis for embedded drone software and hardware ​

Implement cryptographic solutions for secure communication, firmware integrity, and data encryption ​

Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and software engineering teams to integrate security best practices into product development ​

Conduct penetration tests and develop countermeasures to harden drone systems against threats ​

Maintain security documentation and compliance with industry security standards and guidelines

What you bring to the team :

Strong expertise in Linux security, including kernel hardening, secure boot, and filesystem protection ​

Hands-on experience with cryptographic algorithms, PKI, and key management systems ​

Proficiency in secure communication protocols (TLS, VPN, etc.) ​

Familiarity with secure firmware update mechanisms ​

Strong knowledge of threat modeling and mitigation strategies for embedded systems ​

Experience in penetration testing, fuzzing, and vulnerability assessment ​

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment ​

Familiarity with compliance standards for aerospace and defense security ​

Contribution to security-focused open-source projects is a plus ​

Bonus : In-depth knowledge of the Yocto Project for building custom Linux distributions and security layers ​

Bonus : Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) ​

Bonus : Knowledge of drone technologies and communication standards (such as MAVLink) ​
