As a Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d) at auxmoney, you will play a pivotal role in a cross-functional team where your work directly shapes customer-facing products and internal platforms. You will design and deliver impactful features, contribute to scalable and resilient system architecture, and take end-to-end ownership from concept to deployment.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, business stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality solutions while continuously elevating engineering standards across the team. What you can expect:

• Architecture & System Design: Identify and address architectural limitations, make pragmatic trade-offs, and help evolve systems toward scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
• Technical Leadership: Act as a trusted technical expert by promoting engineering best practices, facilitating technical discussions, and helping teams align on high-quality solutions.
• Engineering Quality: Build solutions that are secure, scalable, extensible, and cost-efficient while maintaining high coding and documentation standards.
• Execution & Delivery: Break down complex initiatives into manageable workstreams and deliver incremental value through iterative development.
• Impact & Knowledge Sharing: Champion engineering excellence, share knowledge proactively, and support the professional growth of colleagues.
• Collaboration & Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, actively contribute to design reviews, and address root causes of recurring technical challenges.
• Ownership & Mentorship: Take responsibility for challenging projects and guide team members through technical mentoring and hands-on support.
• Strategic Thinking & Growth Mindset: Balance short-term delivery with long-term system sustainability and continuously look for opportunities to improve technology, processes, and team effectiveness.

Your profile

• Backend Engineering Expertise: Several years of hands-on backend development experience with preferably strong proficiency in PHP, particularly using the Symfony framework.
• System & API Development: Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining robust backend systems in production environments, including strong expertise in developing and integrating RESTful APIs.
• Cloud & DevOps Practices: Experience working with cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and modern DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure automation. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is highly valued.
• Event-Driven Architecture (Bonus): Familiarity with Kafka or similar event-driven messaging systems is considered a strong advantage.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Solid understanding of automated testing strategies, including unit and integration testing, with a focus on delivering reliable and high-quality software aligned with overall quality standards.
• Product-Oriented Mindset: A strong focus on building solutions that deliver measurable value for users and business outcomes.
• Team & Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to a supportive engineering culture.
• Security & Compliance Awareness: A proactive approach to implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Language Skills: Fluent written and spoken English.
