The Department of Electrical, Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, Köthen campus, is seeking to fill the professorship

Dynamics and Control of Photovoltaic Systems (Bes.-Gruppe W 2)

at the earliest possible date.

Area of responsibility

This professorship is responsible for the subject areas of power electronics, energy storage systems, photovoltaic system design as well as the analysis of complex energy systems, in research and in particular in the international, English-language Master's degree programmes at the department as well as in continuous education and research.

The professorship requires a high level of commitment in the supervision of Bachelor's and Master's theses, student projects and excursions as well as in the strategic further development of the international degree programmes, the expansion of the development of part-time, continuing education and dual study programmes. Intensive cooperation with practice and training partners is necessary for the application-orientated studies at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences.

In applied research, interdisciplinary cooperation with universities and research institutions, companies and professional associations as well as with other departments at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is required. In addition, active participation in the acquisition and realisation of third-party funded projects and research and development projects is part of the responsibilities.

Anhalt University of Applied Sciences is authorised to award doctorates in research-intensive disciplines. The willingness to active participation in the cross-university doctoral centre ‘Engineering Sciences and Information Technologies’ is a prerequisite.

Active participation in the committees of academic self-administration is one of the tasks of the professorship.

Profile of qualification

We are looking for a person with a proven track record in the field of development and implementation of photovoltaic energy systems with a focus on control, power electronics or energy storage. Research experience in modelling and simulation of industrial energy systems is desirable.

The applicant (m / f / d) should have a relevant academic degree in electrical engineering or a related field related to the position and a completed doctorate in the field of the appointment.

The holder of the position is expected to teach at Anhalt University of Applied Sciences, in particular the study contents related to the field of appointment in a contemporary manner. The courses assigned to the professorship are to be further developed using modern didactic methods and working techniques, especially in digital form, and aligned with current research results. The willingness to offer courses in German and English is a prerequisite, therefore a good command of English is expected as well as a solid foundation in the German language and intercultural competencies.

The future holder of the position should have experience in the implementation and acquisition of research, cooperation and / or third-party funded projects with partners from science and practice as well as publications on the aforementioned focal points. International networking in the subject areas of the professorship is expected.

Condition of employment :

The requirements for employment are governed by article 35 (HSG LSA).

Appointment to a professorship is made for the first time upon fulfillment of the prerequisites in a civil servant relationship on probation. If the prerequisites are not met, a temporary employment relationship under private law can be established.

If the candidate proves successful during the probationary period, the appointment will be converted into a civil servant position for life or the employment relationship under private law will be made permanent.
