Senior Expert ESG & Customs Compliance (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities

• Take subject-matter responsibility for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) as well as export control compliance topics, with a focus on customs-related issues (e.g. CBAM)
• Develop practical policies, standards, and processes to ensure regulatory compliance
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business units
• Advise internal stakeholders on technical and strategic questions as well as escalations
• Identify legal risks and derive appropriate mitigation measures
• Contribute to authority inquiries, audits, and cross-functional projects
• Represent DHL Group in industry associations and to authorities, both nationally and internationally, and actively participate in internal expert committees

Your profile

• University degree in law or a comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in ESG or export control topics, ideally with basic knowledge of customs law and experience in the logistics industry
• Strong affinity for legal regulations, complex topics, and logistics business models and processes
• Proven experience in implementing and ensuring compliance standards, as well as very strong experience and knowledge in project management
• Excellent analytical and conceptual skills combined with a highly self-driven, structured working style
• Confident appearance, strong communication and presentation skills, and professional stakeholder management in both national and international contexts
• Fluent in German and English; willingness to travel (< 25%)
