Propulsion System Engineer (m / f / d)

At the main plant in Augsburg, we develop, design, manufacture and market fully automatic powershift transmissions for tracked vehicles as well as special gear units for industrial plants and ships with around 1,400 employees.

Propulsion System Engineer (m / f / d)

For our headquarter in Augsburg we are looking for an experienced Propulsion System Engineer (m / f / d) to support our team and to contribute to the company's success in the future.

Your tasks

Related to ship propulsion and power systems :

conceptual and preliminary design, evaluation of performance parameters (eventually using modelling and simulation), undertaking trade-off studies

consultancy to customers and internal teams regarding propulsion system configuration options and support of requirements analysis loops
specification of propulsion and power system functions / requirements
negotiation with costumers regarding the scope of work / supply and interfaces
communication with suppliers of major propulsion system components / sub-systems
technical program execution incl. the role of technical program manager for orders for system integration and / or system supply

Your profile

Degree in Marine Engineering or cognate disciplines, e.g. shipbuilding or mechanical engineering with experience in the marine industry

Knowledge and practical experience in concept and detail design of ship's propulsion and power systems

Knowledge and practical experience in the field of propulsion control systems

Experience in modelling and simulation; basic knowledge in SysML and UML

Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering Methods

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team

Assertiveness

A good command of written and spoken German is considered of advantage, otherwise willingness to learn German
