The job
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD researcher (f / m / x) eager to engage in a multidisciplinary project within a BMBF-funded young research group "CoMet" affiliated with the Department of Molecular Environmental Biotechnology at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research.
Your tasks
- Heterologous production of metalloproteins in different bacterial host organisms
- Purification of metallproteins and scale up the production efficiency
- Protein design through side-directed mutagenesis
- Protein analysis via protein mass spectrometry, ICP-MS, EPR, cryo-EM, native and SDS-PAGE etc.
- Development and conduction of high-throughput activity tests
- Presentation of data on conferences and writing of publications
- Supervision of students

Completed university degree (Master's degree, university diploma, or equivalent) in the field of biochemistry, biology, life science or a related subjectGood communication skills in English (written and oral)Basic knowledge in molecular biology, analytics (MS, GC, HPLC) and protein biochemistry (purification, activity assays)Social skills and strong communication skills for working in a teamContact
