Your apprenticeship at Vestas - a strong start to your career!

Year 1: You will start in our training workshop in Husum - metalworking/ electrical engineering

Year 2 & 3: You will support our service teams throughout Germany at our wind turbines

Year 4: Back in Husum, you will prepare for the final examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK)

Your responsibilities - here's where you can get involved!

  • During your apprenticeship, with real opportunities of permanent employment, you will learn about the profession of service technician and the wide range of tasks involved


  • Your training programme includes the installation, maintenance and repair of systems


  • You will learn about large component replacement, rotor blade repairs and many other topics


  • You will also learn how components are manufactured and tested, and how different materials are processed


  • Over the course of your apprenticeship, you will assist with the commissioning of wind turbines


  • Software programming and installation are also part of your apprenticeship


Your profile - what makes you a great fit!

  • You have a good school leaving certificate (intermediate school leaving certificate, advanced technical college entrance qualification or university entrance qualification)


  • You are interested in mathematics and physics


  • You are a true team player and enjoy achieving things together


  • You bring skill in craftsmanship


  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken, round off your profile
