As part of our Virtual Test Drive - Digital Steering and Chassis Development project, we are aiming to further develop a state-of-the-art driving simulator that will enable us to carry out digital predictions and approvals efficiently and precisely with regard to driving comfort in real time.
Our Control System Analysis team focuses on the digital prediction and validation of control systems in vehicles. The main tasks include working with systems such as the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), electric power steering and powertrain control units.
We use specially developed multi-body simulation models to analyze the software of these systems. Another important area is digital road approval, in which software versions of control units can be digitally approved without physical testing on the road.
Become part of our Control System Analysis team and make a decisive contribution to the development and integration of the digital twin of a virtual proving ground for Mercedes-Benz driving simulators.
Your thesis will play a key role in the evaluation of the Mercedes-Benz driving character and thus contribute directly to increasing the quality of our vehicles.
- Embedding of road data : Integrate real roadway data into the multi-body simulation model to create an accurate basis for the simulation
- Interface development : Develop and implement the necessary interfaces in the driving simulator framework to enable communication between the vehicle model and visualization
- Validation of the simulation : Ensuring that the physical and visual representation of the test site match
- Graphical preparation : Improve the visual representation of the digital twin to create a detailed and immersive environment in the driving simulator
The final theme is determined in consultation with the university, you and us.
Qualifikationen
- Advanced degree in engineering, computer science or a related field of study
- Experience in multi-body simulation and / or in the field of automotive engineering
- Knowledge of programming, preferably in the languages C and Python
- Business fluent in German and English
- A high degree of creativity and the ability to solve complex problems
- Ability to work independently and in a team
