Your mission

In this role, you will combine in-depth programming skills with modern system administration and act as a central interface between software development and IT operations in our Platfom Engineeing team. Your responsibilities will include the following tasks:

• Optimization and automation of development and operational processes
• Automate and ensure application scalability
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g. with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) to improve our processes and software
• Manage cloud infrastructures (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Automation of deployments and infrastructure with tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Pulumi
• Monitoring and logging (e.g. with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) or cloud-based observability platforms such as NewRelic
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to optimize software delivery to foster quality and increase release frequency
• Development of self-services to automate processes in an existing cloud environment at scale
• Providing self-services to users of a platform in the cloud

Your profile

In addition to a completed degree in computer science, business informatics, or a comparable field, you should already have initial professional experience as well as the following skills and competencies:

• Fundamental knowledge of cloud computing architecture, ideally Microsoft Azure
• Experience with automation using one or more scripting languages
• Insights in configuration and deploying containerized applications and orchestrating them with Kubernetes
• Reasonable experience with monitoring and observability practice and tools
• Understanding of network architectures, firewalls, and related technologies

If you also bring experience

• in software development with Java or software operations
• in SRE practices (Site Reliability Engineering)
