Cloud Infrastructure & Network Operations Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Germany (Security Clearance SÜ2 required)

Assignment: Dedicated customer (out of home office within Germany)

We are looking for experienced Service Engineers (m/f/d) to join the operations team for a highly standardized and automated cloud network platform. The solution is built on modern cloud architecture and leverages advanced automation and DevOps principles. Our mission is to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient operation of a business-critical infrastructure with the highest standards for availability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Incident Management: Analyze, document, and resolve operational incidents (~20% of working time), including escalation and coordination within the team.
• Change Management: Plan, assess impact, coordinate, and implement changes.
• Operations: Guarantee smooth platform operation and drive continuous improvement.
• Automation & Innovation: Contribute to automation and self-service solutions (e.g., DevOps tools, Python scripting).
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues on task planning, shift schedules, and on-call rotations.

General Qualifications:

• Several years of experience operating and administering cloud and network architectures (e.g., data centers, enterprise environments).
• Strong skills in automation and DevOps (e.g., Python, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code).
• Analytical mindset, self-driven work style, and excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
• Familiarity with common o􀆯ice and collaboration tools.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

• Professional communication skills (written and verbal).
• Reliability, flexibility, and proactive approach to challenges.

Language Requirements:

• English: Mandatory (business fluent, written and spoken).
• German: Preferred but not required.

Role-Specific Expertise:

EVPN/VXLAN Fabric Services

• Operation of multi-AZ Cisco Nexus 9k CLOS fabric; VXLAN data-plane, EVPN control-plane, MP-BGP/OSPF underlay; multi-chassis LAG; route-reflectors; automation via templates; 99.99% availability.
• Experience: 5+ years in DC fabric operations on Cisco NX-OS 9k series.
• Skills: EVPN/VXLAN, MP-BGP, OSPF, MLAG.
• CI/CD for network configs: Ansible, GitHub Actions.
• Certifications: CCNP Enterprise or Data Center; CCIE Data Center ideal.
• Security Clearance: SÜ2 within Germany required.

Technology Skills:

• VXLAN encapsulation for Layer 2/Layer 3 overlay networks.
• VXLAN EVPN multi-site.
• Layer 2 bridging intra-AZ and inter-AZ via EVPN.
• Layer 3 routing with Anycast Gateway (IRB interfaces).
• Loop prevention via EVPN split-horizon and control-plane learning.
• EVPN route types (Type 2, 5, etc.) for MAC/IP advertisement.
• Overlay segmentation via route targets and route distinguishers.
• Routing via iBGP/eBGP/OSPF/MP-BGP.
• Access control policies (VRF-based segmentation).
• Endpoint tracking and blacklisting.
• Cisco Nexus 9k switches.
