\n As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll leverage your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes, and enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations-- and you'll coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects, identifying sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.\n

\nRole overview : \n
\nWe are looking for an experienced Senior R&D Mechanical Engineer with approximately 10+ years of industry experience in high precision mechanical design, advanced materials engineering , and design for manufacturability. This role is ideal for a senior professional who combines deep technical expertise with hands-on shopfloor understanding and the ability to influence design direction, manufacturing strategy, and engineering standards. \n
\nThe primary emphasis of this position is on materials selection, materials behavior in high-tech applications, and precision machine component design \n
\n
\nRole Responsibilities: \n
\n
\nLead the mechanical design of complex, high precision components and assemblies for advanced equipment, ensuring robust functionality, manufacturability, and long term reliability. \n
\n
\n
\nServe as the materials authority for mechanical components—evaluating metals, alloys, coatings, composites, polymers, and their performance under demanding environments (vacuum, thermal, dynamic loads). Own technical decisions related to materials, finishes, coatings, and critical tolerances. \n
\n
\n
\nApply expert level knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis, and precision engineering principles to develop designs that meet stringent performance and quality requirements. \n
\n
\n
\nGuide and mentor junior engineers on materials usage, DFM, machining practices, drawing standards, and engineering best practices. \n
\n
\n
\nDrive collaboration with manufacturing engineering, machining vendors, suppliers, metrology, and quality teams to optimize manufacturability, reduce costs, and improve design robustness. \n
\n
\n
\nLead design reviews, material selection workshops , and manufacturability assessments for new product introductions and continuous improvement initiatives. \n
\n
\n
\nProvide technical leadership in resolving complex shop floor issues—leveraging hands-on experience from precision machining and assembly environments. \n
\n
\n
\nOversee the creation of detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and documentation using CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar). \n
\n
\n
\nSupport prototype builds, validation testing, and material performance evaluations. \n
\n
