About the job Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. Position: Public Health Expert Type: Contract Compensation: $85–$93/hour Location: Remote Commitment: ~20 hours/week Role Responsibilities Author and review technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance on public health problems. Produce original problem sets using epidemiologic charts , surveillance data , and population health figures . Write reference solutions and apply structured quality checks. Collaborate with AI research teams to improve training data quality and model outputs. Work independently and asynchronously with a flexible schedule. Qualifications Must-Have PhD or DrPH in Epidemiology , Biostatistics , Health Policy , or related field, or MD/DO with MPH and 3+ years of public health practice, or MPH with 5+ years in applied epidemiology, surveillance, or health policy. Working fluency in at least two of: epidemiologic study design , biostatistics , infectious disease , chronic disease , or health policy . Comfortable with epi curves , forest plots , and surveillance dashboards . Preferred Experience in government, NGO, or academic public health track.
