About the Department: The EMEA Development Control department, part of Daikin's EMEA Development Centre, plays a pivotal role in supporting our development teams. Main responsibilities encompass project and resource planning and follow-up, as well as the set-up and enhancement of internal processes and systems within the R&D organization.
Job Location: DENV Research & Development Center in Gent (Zwijnaarde), with occasional travel to other locations as required.
About the position: As a Budget Planning Officer, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to coordinate, monitor, and optimize budget-related activities across EMEA Development Centre (EDC). Your role will involve keeping management informed about cost evolution, proposing necessary actions to align with targets, and fostering a culture of cost awareness and transparency within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of the EDC Resource Plan, encompassing expenses, investments, and workforce requirements.
- Management of entire EDC budget cycle: tracking, controlling and reporting of result vs. budget, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial targets.
- Standardize and enhance processes related to budget planning, control, and reporting across various development bases in Europe.
- Advocate for cost responsibility, correctness, and transparency throughout the organization.
- Enhance cost planning & monitoring as one of the main pillars of an effective project management.
Candidate Profile:
- Master’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commercial Engineering.
- Prior experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Critical mindset, constantly seeking opportunities for process improvement.
- Effective communicator and enthusiastic team player, comfortable in a multicultural environment.
- Advanced Excel user, knowledge of Power BI and SAP environment will be considered as a plus.
- Proficient in English.
