Essential Responsibilities:
- Drive revenue growth and global market expansion by identifying and cultivating strategic partnerships, channels, and opportunities
- Lead the negotiation with external partners and engage cross-functional support colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of solutions for large complex partnerships.
- Shape long-term commercial strategy by assessing market dynamics, competitive positioning, and partnership performance to prioritize high-impact growth opportunities.
- Establish scalable partnership frameworks and operating models that streamline execution, enhance collaboration across teams, and ensure consistent delivery of partner value.
- Align product and business levers (such as pricing and FX) to maximize revenue and market expansion opportunities.
- Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Research teams to translate business priorities into scalable solutions — ensuring the technical design and implementation align with growth, commercial, and customer experience objectives
- Represent the end customer on an ongoing basis and use this knowledge to drive effective prioritization and decision-making.
- Collaborate and influence product outcomes in a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders such as Engineering, Operations, Risk, Legal, Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Finance, and Banking Partners.
Minimum Qualifications:

The Manager, Loyalty Partnerships will bring a strong business development mindset, with the ability to identify, structure, and scale high-impact partnerships within the PayPal Rewards program. This individual is comfortable operating in a commercial environment, balancing customer experience with partner economics to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strategic thinking with strong execution, thrives in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment, and has a demonstrated ability to build and grow partnerships that drive measurable business impact. Key responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end partnership lifecycle: identify, source, and develop new opportunities; lead outreach, structure commercial terms, negotiate agreements, and oversee execution through launch
- Drive business development and revenue growth: build and manage a robust pipeline of strategic partners that enhance the PayPal Rewards value proposition and contribute to program growth
- Lead commercial negotiations: align with external partners on business models, economics, and long-term value creation while ensuring successful deal closure
- Expand and monetize existing relationships: identify opportunities within PayPal’s merchant ecosystem to deepen partnerships through loyalty and rewards integration
- Develop partnership strategy for the German market: align partner selection and deal structures with customer needs, competitive dynamics, and PayPal’s broader objectives
- Collaborate cross-functionally: work with Product, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Engineering to bring partnerships to life and ensure seamless integration and execution
- Drive performance and optimization: track key metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and scale high-performing partnerships and campaigns
- Represent the customer and partner perspective: ensure partnerships deliver meaningful value to both end users and external stakeholders
Qualifications:
- 5-8+ years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or commercial roles, with a demonstrated track record of sourcing, negotiating, and closing partnerships
- Proven experience leading complex commercial negotiations and structuring partnership agreements that drive mutual value
- Strong understanding of partnership ecosystems, with the ability to identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills, with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution
- Analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience evaluating partnership performance and informing decision-making
- Prior experience in loyalty, rewards, fintech, e-commerce, or digital platforms is strongly preferred
