The role
As a Junior Research Analyst, you will work closely with our advisors to source the data required for formal memoranda. Your primary responsibility is to find the signal in the noise. You will spend your time digging through corporate reports, legal filings, and historical records to verify facts. You will draft initial research briefs that summarize complex topics for your colleagues. Accuracy is the highest priority here. You will be expected to identify contradictions in data and track down original sources rather than relying on secondary summaries. Part of your week will involve checking the citations of our final documents to ensure every claim is defensible and grounded in reality.

What you will do

• Conduct deep research into specific industries, organizations, and governance structures.
• Synthesize large volumes of raw information into concise internal research notes.
• Verify the accuracy of names, dates, financial figures, and historical events within drafts.
• Monitor ongoing strategic shifts and news related to active client engagements.
• Maintain a well organized internal library of research papers and archival documents.
• Draft factual appendices that accompany our primary advisory memoranda.
• Participate in internal review sessions where we stress test our written arguments.

What we need from you
We need someone who finds satisfaction in the details and cares about the nuances of language. You should have a natural curiosity for how organizations function and a drive to find the truth. A high level of literacy is essential as our primary output is written text. You must be comfortable working independently in a remote environment and managing your own research schedule. We value candidates who are comfortable admitting when they do not know an answer and will go find it. A calm temperament and the ability to focus on one task for several hours are important traits for this position. Intellectual honesty is more important to us than having the right corporate vocabulary.

Helpful background
Because our work involves logic and evidence, a background in the humanities or social sciences is often very useful. Candidates who have studied history, law, or philosophy often perform well in our environment. These disciplines emphasize the ability to weigh conflicting evidence and build a coherent written argument. Experience with basic data analysis tools is helpful, but the ability to think critically about what data actually represents is more valuable. We also welcome interest from recent graduates who have experience working on complex research projects or academic journals during their studies. Any previous experience in a role requiring high attention to detail will be seen as an advantage.
