R&D Technologist - New Product Development (m / f / d)

We are looking for an R&D Technologist - New Product Development (m / f / d) . As a vital member of our Innovation team, you will play a crucial role in the development of new yeast derivatives, utilized in various sectors such as food, animal health, human health and / or fermentation applications.

The role and your tasks :

  • Develop innovative products, processes and applications based on yeast or alternative raw materials
  • Independently implement research projects, from planning to execution, across lab and pilot-plant scales
  • Optimize current production processes
  • Develop and apply a range of downstream bioprocessing technologies, including physical, chemical, and biocatalytic / enzymatic methods, among others
  • Conduct analytical evaluations of products using chromatographic and photometric techniques, including method development
  • Conduct analytical evaluations of products using chromatographic and photometric techniques, with a focus on independent method development
  • Perform functional characterization of products through rheological analysis, assessment of nutritional properties, and sensory evaluation
  • Handle microbial cultures aseptically and assess product performance in microbial cultivations or fermentations
  • Conduct independent literature research to remain up to date with the latest advancements in the field
  • Document and present findings effectively within the company
  • Commit to continuous learning to remain at the forefront of the industry

Your Profile :

  • Master of Science in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, or equivalent
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in lab-scale downstream processing technologies, such as separation, filtration, extraction, etc.
  • Prior exposure to design of experiments (DoE)
  • Proven ability to plan and execute research projects effectively
  • Strong multitasking capabilities, adept at managing multiple tasks concurrently
  • Possess an analytical mindset with excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English; knowledge in German is advantageous.
