Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/d) – AI, Technology & Commercial In Germany - Berlin| Bonn | Cologne | Frankfurt/Main | Hamburg | Munich

As Senior Legal Counsel - AI, Technology & Commercial, you will play a key role in supporting our global consulting business and enabling the legal framework for AI solutions, digital products, and scalable contracting. You will act as a trusted business partner to consulting, AI, and product teams, ensuring that innovation—especially in AI and software—can be delivered to clients in a legally compliant, efficient, and commercially viable way.

How you will create an impact:

AI, Technology & Software

• Advise on AI-enabled consulting services and internal AI usage, including data protection, confidentiality, and regulatory aspects.
• Act as a legal partner to Simon-Kucher Engine, supporting SaaS, licensing, software development, and commercialization topics.
  
• Provide legal-by-design guidance to product and consulting teams.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks related to AI, data, and technology-driven offerings.

Commercial Contracting & Scaling

• Draft, review, and negotiate client contracts across consulting, AI, and software/SaaS engagements.
• Draft and negotiate vendor agreements, including AI tools, SaaS providers, and data vendors.
• Develop scalable contract templates, standards, and negotiation playbooks.
• Continuously improve contracting processes to enable efficient and scalable deal execution.

IP, Data & Compliance

• Advise on intellectual property ownership and licensing, including AI-generated outputs, software solutions, and methodologies.
• Collaborate closely with internal Data & AI teams to ensure compliance with data protection laws and AI regulations in both client contracting and procurement processes.

Legal Operations & Business Enablement

• Enhance legal workflows and introduce scalable tools and processes.
• Provide pragmatic, business-oriented legal guidance and training to stakeholders.
• Support the development of a modern, forward-looking legal function aligned with business needs.

About you:

• Fully qualified lawyer in the EU with 3–5 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong background in technology / IT law, software and commercial contracts.
• Exposure to SaaS, software business models, and/or AI and data-related topics.
• Commercial mindset with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.
• Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work effectively in an international and fast-paced environment.
• Fluent in English; German preferred, additional EU languages are a strong plus.
