Corporate Underwriter Main Responsibilities
You will support corporate insurance underwriting by analysing risk, profitability and portfolio performance across relevant business areas.
•Support underwriting decisions for corporate insurance cases
• Analyse risk, profitability and portfolio performance
• Review loss ratios, premium levels and underwriting results
• Support the use and implementation of underwriting guidelines
• Prepare underwriting analytics and internal reports
• Work with Reinsurance, ERM, Finance, Actuarial and other related teams
• Support underwriters across European offices where required
• Review large corporate or Japanese business-related insurance cases
• Contribute to renewal reviews and profitability improvement discussions
• Monitor market, regulatory and risk-related factors that may affect underwriting decisions
Corporate Underwriter Ideal Candidate
• 3–7 years of experience in a non-life insurance company, reinsurance company, insurance broker or related insurance field
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: Underwriting, Analytics, Reinsurance, Corporate Underwriting, ERM, Portfolio Management, Risk Management
• Business-level English
• Strong analytical and logical thinking skills
• Good numerical and reporting skills
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work in Germany or Europe
Desired
• German language skills
• Japanese language skills
• Experience supporting Japanese corporate clients
• Knowledge of P&C, Property, Liability or Marine insurance
• Experience in insurance data analysis, loss ratio analysis or profitability analysis
• Knowledge of Reinsurance, ERM, Risk Management or Actuarial-related areas
• Experience working in an international environment
• Japanese candidates with business-level English and relevant insurance or risk-related experience may also be considered
