Hauptaufgaben
* Process General Mail: Sort, weigh, and process incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and bulk shipments.
* Manage Postal Finances: Sell stamps and money orders while securely managing cash inventories and processing customer transactions.
* Handle High-Security Mail: Receive, track, and deliver certified, registered, and express mail with strict accountability.
* Operate Service Windows: Deliver oversized packages, verify customer identities, issue mailboxes, and update address directories.
* Use Scanning Technology: Use hand-held digital scanners to log bar-coded mail and upload tracking information.
* Support Logistics and Loading: Unload mail shipments, safely stack materials, and load delivery vehicles.
* Drive Transport Vehicles: Operate light utility vans to collect and deliver mail bags and publications while performing basic vehicle checks.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
C-0303-5:
Applicants must possess a Hauptschulabschluss PLUS 2 years of general experience PLUS 1 year of job related experience.
Current employees who do not possess a Hauptschulabschluss, must have 2 additional years of general experience.
Current employees who have served at least 1 year in their current position qualify for the next higher grade in the same or similar occupation.
General experience: Experience includes clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events, work as a cashier, or similar work.
Job related experience: Experience in the same line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled and must be directly related to the position. The amount of the higher level experience must be in a reasonable relation to the required total number of years.
Additional requirements:
Must complete the Postal Service Center (PSC) training module with-in six (6) months of employment.
Must complete Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) handling and processing training prior to handling the mail.

* Incumbent's normal workday consists of heavy lifting, standing, bending, reaching, or using automated systems in a warehouse like environment with occasional outside exposure.
* Working on weekends and holidays required.

* Annual leave will not normally be granted for the period of 1 November to 31 January except for emergencies.
