Introduction

We are seeking aField Application Engineer - Automotive (EMEA)to support and drive customer engagements with leading automotive OEMs and Tier1 suppliers across Europe.This is acustomer-facing technical individual contributor role responsible for enabling design wins by bridging customer requirements with MIPS product portfolio includingprocessor IP software tools and custom silicon solutions.

Your Job

Customer Technical Engagement

• Act as theprimary technical interfacefor customers during pre-sales and early development phases

• Support customer engineering teams in evaluating and adopting MIPS solutions

• Provide hands-on technical guidance on: Processor IP integrationSoftware toolchains and development environments and System architecture considerations

Design-In & Design Win Support

• Drivedesign-in activitiesat OEMs Tier1s and design houses

• Support technical discussions to securedesign winsfor:CPU IP licensing Custom silicon programs Automotive platform solutions Assist customers in transitioning from evaluation to implementation

Solution Enablement

Help customers understand and implement MIPS value proposition:

• Open RISCV architecture flexibility

• Multi-threaded high-performance compute

• Functional safety-ready solutions (ASIL)

• Support system-level optimization for performance power and cost

Technical Problem Solving

• Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues across hardware and software domains

• Work closely with internal engineering teams to escalate and address complex challenges

• Ensure timely resolution of customer issues to maintain project momentum

Collaboration with Sales & Business Development

• Partner with Business Development to support opportunity creation and closure

• Provide technical input to proposals RFIs and customer presentations

• Translate customer requirements into actionable feedback for product and engineering teams

Ecosystem & Market Support

• Support engagement with ecosystem partners (software EDA design services)

• Participate in customer workshops demos and industry events

• Help position MIPS solutions within the broaderautomotive semiconductor ecosystem in EMEA

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors/Masters degree in an engineering discipline or similar

• 5-10 years inField Application Engineering Applications Engineering or Design Engineering

• Experience in Semiconductor IP SoC/ASIC development or embedded systems Automotive electronics or related markets

• Proven track record supporting customer engagements and design wins

• Strong understanding ofAutomotive electronic architectures (MCUs SoCs domain/zonal controllers)

• Key use cases such asADAS / perception systemsor Motor control / electrification

• Familiarity with:Processor architectures Embedded software development (compilers SDKs OS) andSystem-level design and integration

• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills

• Ability to operate independently in a field-based role

• Hands-on technical mindset with strong debugging capability

• Ability to bridgetechnical depth with customer business needs

• Fluent in English (Written & Verbal: C1)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience withRISCV ecosystem or CPU IP integration

• Prior experience supportingautomotive OEMs or Tier1 suppliers in Europe

• Experience withcustom silicon or SoC development flows

• Understanding offunctional safety standards (ISO 26262)
