Your New Role

The Jr. Production Manager Local Original Productions is the operational link between the HBO Max Germany editorial team and external production companies commissioned to produce local original content. Working closely with the Sr. Director Local Original Production the role keeps track of schedules budgets and deliverables across all phases of commissioned productions from pre-production through to final delivery. A key part of the role is maintaining close and regular communication with cross-divisional internal peers in particular Legal Finance Post Production and the international HBO team to ensure a coordinated and well-documented production process. Externally the Jr. Production Manager works directly with the relevant counterparts at production companies including Line Producers and Producers.

Your Role Accountabilities

• Serving as the primary operational point of contact for commissioned production companies communicating directly with Line Producers and Producers
• Coordinating day-to-day production matters with production companies keeping track of progress against agreed schedules budgets and HBO requirements
• Collecting reviewing and processing budget proposals submitted by production companies prior to and during production
• Actively monitoring the German production market including funding landscapes subsidy guidelines and industry developments

Budget & Schedule Tracking

• Supporting the SD in keeping track of production schedules and budgets across all project phases: pre-production shooting post-production and delivery
• Monitoring production progress and flagging potential schedule or budget risks to the SD in a timely manner
• Reviewing cost reports and schedule updates submitted by production companies
• Supporting the preparation of production status reports overviews and internal project presentations
• Supporting the SD in maintaining a consolidated overview of all active productions and their current status

Cross-divisional Collaboration

• Maintaining regular communication with cross-divisional internal peers in particular Legal Finance Post Production Management and the international HBO production team
• Briefing Legal and Finance for contract drafting and budget approvals; keeping track of status and following up as needed
• Preparing and distributing meeting agendas minutes and action item lists for production-related meetings with internal and external stakeholders

General Tasks

• Consolidating and maintaining all production documentation including contracts budgets schedules delivery documents and correspondence
• Maintaining a central production database and project status tracker covering all active and upcoming commissions
• General administrative duties within the handling of local productions
• Attendance at relevant industry events and production ceremonies as required

Skills and Experience Required

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English
• 5 years of working experience as Line Producer Production Manager or Production Coordinator at a TV broadcaster streaming platform or production company
• Excellent understanding of production workflows budgeting and scheduling across all phases of high-end TV series scripted and unscripted
• Familiarity with commissioning structures and the working relationship between an editorial/broadcaster team and production companies
• Highly organised accurate and reliable with a structured approach to document management
• Proficient in standard production management tools (e.g. Movie Magic Sesam); experience with project tracking tools a plus

Ihre Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

Produktionskoordination

• Hauptansprechpartner für operative Themen gegenüber beauftragten Produktionsfirmen; direkte Kommunikation mit Line Producer und Produzent.
• Koordination des täglichen Produktionsgeschäfts mit Produktionsfirmen sowie Nachverfolgung des Fortschritts im Hinblick auf vereinbarte Zeitpläne Budgets und HBO-Anforderungen.
• Einholung Prüfung und Bearbeitung von Budgetvorschlägen die von Produktionsfirmen vor und während der Produktion eingereicht werden.
• Aktive Beobachtung des deutschen Produktionsmarktes einschließlich Förderlandschaften Subventionsrichtlinien und Branchenentwicklungen.

Budget- und Terminverfolgung

• Unterstützung des/der Senior Director bei der Nachverfolgung von Produktionsplänen und Budgets über alle Projektphasen hinweg: Vorproduktion Dreharbeiten Postproduktion und Lieferung.
• Überwachung des Produktionsfortschritts sowie frühzeitige Identifikation und Meldung potenzieller Termin- oder Budgetrisiken.
• Prüfung von Kostenberichten und Terminaktualisierungen die von Produktionsfirmen eingereicht werden.
• Unterstützung bei der Erstellung von Produktionsstatusberichten Übersichten und internen Projektpräsentationen.
• Unterstützung bei der Pflege einer konsolidierten Übersicht aller laufenden Produktionen und ihres aktuellen Status.

Bereichsübergreifende Zusammenarbeit

• Regelmäßige Kommunikation mit internen Ansprechpartner aus verschiedenen Fachbereichen insbesondere Legal Finance Post Production Management sowie dem internationalen HBO-Produktionsteam.
• Abstimmung mit Legal und Finance zur Erstellung von Verträgen und Budgetfreigaben; Nachverfolgung des Bearbeitungsstatus und gegebenenfalls Nachfassen.
• Vorbereitung und Verteilung von Tagesordnungen Protokollen und Aufgabenlisten für produktionsbezogene Meetings mit internen und externen Stakeholdern.

Allgemeine Aufgaben

• Konsolidierung und Pflege sämtlicher Produktionsdokumentationen einschließlich Verträgen Budgets Zeitplänen Lieferdokumenten und Korrespondenz.
• Pflege einer zentralen Produktionsdatenbank sowie eines Projekt-Trackers für alle laufenden und geplanten Auftragsproduktionen.
• Allgemeine administrative Tätigkeiten im Rahmen der Betreuung lokaler Produktionen.
• Teilnahme an relevanten Branchenveranstaltungen und Produktionszeremonien nach Bedarf.

Erforderliche Qualifikationen und Erfahrungen

• Ausgezeichnete mündliche und schriftliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten in Deutsch und Englisch.
• Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung als Line Producer Production Manager oder Production Coordinator bei einem Fernsehsender einer Streaming-Plattform oder einer Produktionsfirma.
• Hervorragendes Verständnis von Produktionsabläufen Budgetierung und Terminplanung über alle Phasen hochwertiger TV-Produktionen hinweg sowohl im fiktionalen als auch im non-fiktionalen Bereich.
• Erfahrung mit Auftragsproduktionen sowie Verständnis der Zusammenarbeit zwischen Redaktion/Sender und Produktionsfirmen.
• Sehr gute Organisationsfähigkeiten hohe Genauigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit sowie eine strukturierte Arbeitsweise im Dokumentenmanagement.
• Sicherer Umgang mit gängigen Produktionsmanagement-Tools (z. B. Movie Magic Sesam); Erfahrung mit Projektmanagement- und Tracking-Tools ist von Vorteil.
