Freelancer Opportunities Available in Learning Design

Job Description

Sponge Compliance is looking for experienced freelance Learning Experience Designers / Instructional Designers to support a significant product upgrade of our compliance learning library.
The work will focus on reviewing, improving and upgrading existing digital compliance learning content, ensuring courses remain accurate, learner-centered, clear, accessible and aligned to Sponge Compliance standards.
Assignment overview

• Initial assignment is expected to be approximately 2-3 months, with potential for further project-based work as the product initiative progresses.
• Work will be connected to the Berlin-based Sponge Compliance team, with ability to work from the Berlin office regularly and when required (especially in onboarding phase).
• German language skills are required, paired with English communication skills
• The role will be paired with existing internal team members to support pace, quality and consistency across a larger product initiative.

Job Requirements

What we are looking for

• Proven experience in instructional design, learning experience design or digital learning content development.
• Strong writing, editing, storyboarding and content-structuring skills.
• Experience in compliance, regulatory, legal, risk, ethics, health and safety, data protection or corporate learning would be highly beneficial.
• High attention to detail and confidence working with detailed or complex subject matter.
• Ability to work independently as a freelancer while staying closely aligned with an internal team.
• Experience with Articulate Storyline, Rise, Evolve or similar authoring tools would be beneficial.
• German-speaking capability is required, paired with English communication skills

Job Responsibilities

What you will be doing

• Reviewing course content and identifying where updates, improvements such as greater interactivity or redesign are needed.
• Applying instructional design and learning experience principles to ensure content is accurate, relevant, accessible and learner centered.
• Writing and refining scripts, storyboards, learning activities, assessments and review notes.
• Working closely with internal learning, design, QA, project and subject matter stakeholders.
• Maintaining consistency across a high-volume learning content upgrade
• Responding to feedback constructively and delivering agreed outputs to timeline and within a strong structured approach.
