Physical Site Survey

Location Germany

We are looking for a detail-oriented Physical Site Survey Engineer to conduct on-site assessments for wireless network deployments. The role involves evaluating customer locations, collecting infrastructure and RF data, identifying installation requirements, and providing recommendations to support successful wireless network implementation. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of networking, RF fundamentals, and experience performing site surveys in enterprise, industrial, or campus environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct physical site surveys for wireless LAN (WLAN) deployments.
• Perform RF site assessments to evaluate coverage, interference, and capacity requirements.
• Collect site information, including floor plans, building layouts, ceiling heights, and mounting options.
• Identify optimal locations for wireless access points, antennas, controllers, and network equipment.
• Assess existing network infrastructure, including switches, cabling, racks, and power availability.
• Verify structured cabling routes and recommend new cable pathways where required.
• Document environmental factors such as construction materials, obstacles, and sources of RF interference.
• Capture photographs, measurements, and detailed site notes.
• Prepare comprehensive site survey reports with deployment recommendations.
• Coordinate with customers, project managers, and installation teams during survey activities.
• Ensure compliance with customer standards and safety requirements.
• Support pre-sales teams by providing technical inputs for project estimation and design.
• Assist deployment teams during installation and post-deployment validation when required.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of wireless networking fundamentals (Wi-Fi standards and RF basics).
• Understanding of structured cabling and network infrastructure.
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and floor plans.
• Familiarity with RF propagation, interference analysis, and coverage planning.
• Experience using wireless survey tools such as Ekahau or AirMagnet is preferred.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively to customer locations.

Preferred Experience

• 2–5 years of experience conducting physical or wireless site surveys.
• Experience with enterprise, industrial, warehouse, healthcare, hospitality, or campus environments.
• Experience supporting wireless network deployment projects.
• Familiarity with Cisco, Aruba, Juniper Mist, Huawei, or Extreme Networks wireless solutions.

Education

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
