Hauptaufgaben
• Interviews clients, analyzes complex legal problems during intake, gathers necessary facts, conducts legal research, and maintains archival systems for precedent-setting legal opinions and office files.
• Acts as the liaison for the Kaiserslautern International Law Division, informing victims and witnesses of their rights in US/German proceedings, arranging travel/lodging, and assisting with compensation claims.
• Translates complex legal documents (judgments, indictments, police reports) between German and English, determining the required level of detail, and provides interpretation during active investigations and proceedings.
• Serves official documents from German courts to US personnel, ensuring compliance with international agreements (SOFA) and Army regulations, and explains the administrative processes to the recipients.
• Coordinates with German legal authorities to obtain case facts, advises unit commanders on required actions, and manages notifications regarding driver's license suspensions or case updates.
• Manages case files involving foreign criminal jurisdiction, coordinates actions with German prosecutors and courts, and processes notifications for US commanders and trial counsel.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
C-0950-06:
MINIMUM Hauptschulabschluss (E&T Level I) PLUS 2 years of clerical experience PLUS 3 years of job related experience.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of clerical experience.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
C-0950-6a:
MINIMUM Hauptschulabschluss (E&T Level I) PLUS 2 years of clerical experience PLUS 4 years of job related experience.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of clerical experience.

Definition – Clerical Experience & Job Related Experience:
Clerical Experience: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Job Related Experience: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled.
