Hauptaufgaben
* Comprehensive Training Leadership: Plans, develops, and executes all fire protection, certification, EMS, and physical fitness training programs. Ensures strict compliance with the National Fire Code, Department of War (DoW) mandates, and Host Nation safety legislation within a joint-response environment.
* Exercise and Facility Readiness: Conducts realistic structural and live-fire exercises (day/night), manages training facilities and equipment procurement, and secures training grounds through coordination with USAG, military, and Host Nation partners.
* Instruction, Quality, & Recordkeeping: Personally delivers instruction and briefings, monitors other instructors to maintain high standards, conducts post-exercise critiques, and maintains all individual and departmental training evaluation records and compliance reports.
* Garrison Program Management: Supports the Fire Chief by providing technical guidance on fire laws and codes to senior garrison leadership. Implements command policies to organize workforce distribution, emergency strategies, and mutual aid agreements.
* On-Scene Emergency Support: Responds to emergency incidents (structural fires, aircraft emergencies, hazardous materials, and CBRN events) in an on-scene support capacity to provide technical expertise and assist in coordinating with Host Nation civil defense authorities.
* Emergency Communications & FACC Management: Manages the Fire Alarm Control Center (FACC) in the absence of an Assistant Chief of Operations. Oversees emergency call intake, determines unit dispatch assignments, and coordinates multi-agency communications (U.S. and Host Nation).
* Personnel and Administrative Management: Assists the Fire Chief with hiring, promoting, and evaluating subordinates, updating job descriptions, mediating workplace conflicts, and executing minor disciplinary actions.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen
C1-0081-6A:
* Office automation skills required.
Following are minimum qualification requirements for entry into any fire protection and prevention position to which this qualification standard applies:
* Incumbent must have a completed apprenticeship in a technical or business trade.
• Incumbent must have successfully completed NFPA Fire Instructor I.
• Incumbent must be able to obtain and successfully complete NFPA Fire Instructor II and NFPA Fire Officer III within 24 months of employment.
• Must have at least 3 years of experience in U.S. Army Fire Department as Fire Protection Inspector or Station Chief or at least 5 years of experience in U.S. Army Fire Department as Lead Fire Fighter (Crew Chief).
• Employee may be required to successfully complete additional classes, required by changed Host Nation or DoD regulations and laws to continue performing assigned tasks. This may also include certification classes to maintain and operate new acquired equipment.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
* German level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages required.
* English level C1 required according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
