Sales Engineer (m/f/d)

At Nomadic Drones we build autonomous drones that land and recharge on high-voltage power lines. Our drones sit on live 380kV lines today, harvest energy from the grid, and deliver continuous monitoring data to grid operators across Europe and America. As Sales Engineer you're at a customer site landing a drone on a 110kV line, then at the conference turning the demo into a scoped pilot. You're the reason our pipeline grows. We're looking for someone technical enough to earn a utility engineer's trust and social enough to enjoy spending hours with them. Expect to travel across Europe and occasionally further.

Tasks

You run live demos at customer sites, including flying drones onto power lines. You lead discovery conversations with utilities to surface the problems worth solving. You scope pilots and write the technical parts of proposals together with the engineering team. You build and run the sales funnel: outreach, follow-up, pipeline hygiene, forecasting. You feed customer insights back into product, what they actually need rather than what they say they need. And whatever is necessary: if something needs to happen, you do it.

In your first three months you will run a live demo at a customer site including landing a drone on a power line, design the sales process that lets our pipeline scale past the founders, and turn at least one discovery conversation into a scoped pilot proposal.

Requirements

An engineering or technical background, so you understand how hardware and software actually work. You enjoy spending hours with customers and can turn a long conversation into a clear problem statement. Fluent in English, other languages a bonus. Comfortable flying drones, or willing to learn and get certified. Willing to travel frequently to customer sites across Europe and beyond. Bonus points for experience in the power or grid industry, prior technical B2B sales or BD, or a background in drones and robotics.
