Alpine Business Consulting helps organizations fix enterprise performance management and reporting systems that have lost their way. Many companies invest in complex planning tools only to find that the initial setup was rushed, leaving finance teams with data they cannot trust and month-end processes that are too slow. We step in to configure these systems properly or build new ones from scratch. Our team consists of consultants with years of real-world experience who prioritize documentation and clean data. We are currently working with a Berlin-based partner to streamline their reporting structures, and we are looking for an Interface Developer Intern to assist with the technical integration of these systems.

About the role
In this role, you will help our consultants build and maintain the bridges between different financial software platforms. You will focus on how data moves from source systems into the centralized planning tools our clients use every day. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from your own setup while remaining in close contact with our team through digital channels. The goal of your work is to help establish a single source of truth for our clients, ensuring that every number in a dashboard matches the data in the underlying ledger. This position is a paid internship, and the pay is competitive for the current market.

What you will be doing
  • Assisting with the configuration of data integration tools to move financial records between systems.
  • Writing and testing basic scripts to transform data formats, ensuring compatibility across different platforms.
  • Reviewing data mappings to identify and fix errors that cause reporting discrepancies.
  • Creating clear documentation that explains how interfaces are structured for the client handover.
  • Participating in technical troubleshooting sessions to resolve data loading issues.
  • Helping consultants verify that the final configuration matches the requirements set during the design phase.
  • Updating system logs and tracking the progress of data migration tasks.
  • Learning how to use specialized EPM software and analytics stacks under the guidance of senior team members.
What we are looking for
  • A basic understanding of SQL and how relational databases function.
  • Familiarity with common data formats such as CSV, JSON, and XML.
  • Interest in how business systems communicate and a desire to learn about enterprise software.
  • Strong organizational skills and a habit of keeping detailed notes on your technical work.
  • The ability to explain technical problems using plain language without relying on jargon.
  • Experience with university projects or personal hobbies that involve basic programming or data handling.
  • A reliable approach to remote work, including the ability to manage your own schedule and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to ask questions when a process is unclear or when data does not look right.

Our consultants treat every engagement as a chance to provide the client with a system they can actually use, which means we value clean configuration over complex workarounds. You will work alongside people who have seen every implementation mistake in the book and are dedicated to doing things the right way the first time. We provide the training and configuration guides necessary for you to succeed in your tasks, ensuring you have the support needed while working independently.
This internship offers a practical look at how large-scale financial systems are built and maintained. You will gain experience with the logic and tools that allow modern businesses to stay organized and transparent. By focusing on documentation and reliable data flows, you will help us ensure that our clients have the information they need to make sound business decisions every morning.
