Junior Web Developer

Alpine Business Consulting is a specialized team that steps in when enterprise systems stop performing. We often work with organizations that have invested heavily in complex planning tools only to find their reporting is inaccurate or their month end processes take too long. We focus on configuration, clean data, and providing a single source of truth for finance teams. Our partner is an international software firm expanding its reach, and we are assisting them with the technical foundation of their internal reporting tools. To support this work, we are looking for a Junior Web Developer who is ready to learn how professional software environments actually function.

The role
This is a full time, entry level position that is entirely remote. You will assist our senior consultants in building and maintaining the web based interfaces used for financial data visualization and reporting. This is not about building flashy marketing sites: it is about creating functional, reliable tools that employees depend on to do their jobs. Because we are a remote company, you will need to be comfortable managing your own schedule and communicating clearly through written documentation and regular check ins. You will spend your time translating requirements from senior consultants into clean code that follows our internal standards.

What you will do

• Update and maintain front end code for internal reporting dashboards using HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
• Assist in the configuration of web interfaces that connect to larger enterprise performance management systems.
• Write and update technical documentation so that our clients can maintain their systems long after our work is finished.
• Troubleshoot minor bugs in web layouts and ensure that data displays correctly across different browsers.
• Collaborate with senior developers to learn how to structure code for long term maintenance and predictability.
• Ensure all new features follow the established single source of truth for data formatting.
• Help prepare handover materials for clients, including configuration guides and basic user manuals.
• Participate in code reviews to understand how to improve your technical skills in a professional setting.

What we look for

• Basic knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, including an understanding of how to build responsive layouts.
• Familiarity with JavaScript fundamentals and a willingness to learn how frameworks are used in a business context.
• A high level of attention to detail: you should be the type of person who notices if a table is misaligned or a label is inconsistent.
• Strong writing skills for technical documentation and internal communication.
• Experience with version control tools like Git is helpful but not required as we will provide training.
• An interest in how data flows from a database to a user interface.
• The ability to follow specific configuration guides without cutting corners.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while staying connected with the team through text and video.
