About the role Many companies invest heavily in complex planning and performance management software, only to find that the initial setup was rushed or disorganized. At Alpine Business Consulting, we step in to fix these systems so that finance teams can actually trust their data. We are currently supporting a major German logistics provider as they expand their operations. This expansion requires new automated workflows and cleaner reporting structures to keep their business moving efficiently.
We are looking for a Junior Automation Specialist to join our team in a full-time, permanent capacity. In this role, you will help our senior consultants maintain and build the automation scripts that keep our clients systems running. The work is entirely remote, allowing you to contribute from your own space while staying connected with a team that values technical accuracy over corporate buzzwords. This is a paid position with a salary that is competitive for the entry level market.
What you will be doing - Support the senior consulting team in configuring and adjusting enterprise performance management (EPM) tools.
- Write and maintain basic scripts in Python or SQL to automate repetitive data entry and reporting tasks.
- Work with large datasets to ensure they are cleaned and formatted correctly before they enter the client systems.
- Draft configuration guides and technical documentation so that client teams understand how their new automations work.
- Monitor existing workflows for errors and help troubleshoot simple data mismatches.
- Participate in internal reviews to ensure all code and configurations meet our standards for transparency and reliability.
- Assist in building out the single source of truth for the German logistics provider by connecting different data sources.
What we are looking for - A basic understanding of programming logic, particularly with Python or similar scripting languages.
- Familiarity with SQL and how relational databases function.
- Strong attention to detail, especially when it comes to checking numbers and verifying data accuracy.
- The ability to write clearly and explain technical steps in plain English for documentation purposes.
- A background in computer science, information systems, or finance-related studies.
- An interest in how large businesses manage their reporting and planning processes.
- The ability to work independently in a remote setting while keeping the team updated on your progress.
- A preference for simple, working solutions over complex or experimental designs.
What the role offers Working at Alpine Business Consulting means skipping the typical corporate fluff. You will get to work directly on real-world problems alongside senior consultants who have decades of experience in the field. Because we are a fully remote organization, you will have a clear focus on your tasks without the distraction of a traditional office environment. We provide a structured environment where the goal is always a successful handover to the client.
You will learn how to handle professional implementations for major clients, including the specific logistics and data challenges faced by a large European provider. We emphasize stable growth and predictable workloads. We provide the tools and training you need to understand Oracle EPM, SAP BPC, and modern analytics stacks from the ground up. This is a place where good documentation is celebrated and doing the job right the first time is the standard.
How we work Our approach is centered on transparency and predictable results. We avoid vague project timelines and instead focus on fixed-price quotes and clear deliverables. Every automation we build is designed to be maintained by the client after we leave, which means your work on documentation and clean configuration is just as important as the code itself. We value technicians who think about the long-term health of a system rather than just a quick fix. By joining our team, you become part of a group that prioritizes reliability, clean data, and practical expertise in every engagement.
