About the role...
The Marketing and Communication Specialist strives to increase the visibility of SnT by creating attractive branded visuals, developing and sharing engaging content, and ensuring the centre is well represented in the event ecosystem.
An understanding of the centre's strategy and an eye for visual concepts are essential for this role. You will need to ensure the messaging in any given tool (slides, video, event) is high-quality and aligns with the centre's objectives.
- Marketing tools and content :
Manage and continuously develop marketing tools, including PowerPoint presentations, brochures, advertisements, posters, booth, banners, diverse templates, external websites, goodies
Create marketing and communication content (text, visuals), identify and work with creative agencies to obtain branded visuals where necessaryEvents :Keep overview of all events relevant to the centre
Research and assess opportunities in participating in eventsOrganise (business) events to support the centre's strategy, acquire new partners, and create synergies between researchers and the economySocial Media :Manage the social media strategy and calendar
Create and schedule diverse postsMentor and collaborate with an internVideo content :Develop video strategy and individual concepts (long-form and reels)
Work with interns and create videos in-houseCollaborate with videographers or agenciesMarketing campaigns :Develop and lead campaigns for research projects, labs, and strategic areas or ad-hoc opportunities (Ex : 2025 is the year of Quantum)
Campaigns can include written content, video, social media, events, and can further be coordinated with other relevant entities at the UniversitySpace-specific activities :Manage the marketing strategy for the Master in Space Technologies and Business with the objective of obtaining more applications, recruiting stellar students, and promoting the master
Develop and implement an Event calendar that serves our objectives and different audiences (Space meetups, Info sessions, etc.).Include participation in relevant events (ex : Luxembourg Space Week)Tracking :Track progress and ROI via appropriate metrics
Other activities :
Develop and maintain an understanding of the needs and expectations of stakeholders including researchers, prospective staff and students, industry partners and funding bodiesProvide expert advice and / or support on marcom matters to internal partiesSupport the team's broad range of activities where necessary, contribute to strategic communications projects, liaise with other entities or externalsAct as back-up for other team members, perform various administrative tasks as neededYour profile...
Minimum 5 year-experience in marketing, event, content creation, or similar experienceMaster's degree in the humanities or business / marketing. Alternatively : BA / MA in computer science / engineering with a professional background in marketing or communicationsProficiency in English at a native or near-native levelUnderstanding of IT topics and the technology landscapeStrong understanding of diverse communications tools and formats (the most important ones are Powerpoint, Wordpress, Canva, LinkedIn)Strong visual eye : able to visualise branded material, draft designs, or create solid briefs for agenciesStrategic mindset : researching audiences, benchmarking, ideating, understanding media and public appraisal, managing the needs of a broad range of stakeholders (scientific, industry, government, media, public)Know-how in SEO and storytellingExperience creating video and handling video equipment, or a willingness to learnNice to haves :
