Network Automation Software Developer (w/m/d)

Our Offer

As a Network Automation Software Developer in the Network Orchestration Team, you design and build production-grade orchestration systems and platform services in Python for DE-CIX's global network infrastructure. You translate operational requirements into scalable software solutions, develop robust APIs and automation workflows, and continuously improve the reliability and stability of our carrier-grade orchestration platform. Experience with large-scale network environments is a plus.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Design and develop production-grade Python software for network orchestration and automation
• Build scalable orchestration systems and integrations for multi-vendor network infrastructure (including Nokia platforms)
• Implement automation workflows using APIs, NETCONF, gNMI, gRPC, and related technologies
• Collaborate with Network Engineering and Operations teams to automate complex infrastructure processes
• Improve the reliability, scalability, observability, and maintainability of orchestration systems
• Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and engineering best practices
• Remote-first work environment and home office

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with strong Python skills and experience with asynchronous programming and modern Python frameworks
• Proven experience building production-grade applications using Test-Driven Development, Git, and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with APIs, distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and network automation/orchestration platforms
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and infrastructure, with the ability to solve complex technical challenges independently and collaboratively
• You are eligible and willing to undergo the German background check “Sicherheitsüberprüfung 1” (SÜ1)
• Availability for trips to the main office in Frankfurt am Main, Germany

Nice to have:

• Experience with network platforms (e.g. Nokia SR OS/SR Linux), network automation technologies (NETCONF/YANG, gNMI, gRPC), and Kubernetes
• Experience in ISP, carrier, or large-scale data center environments, including monitoring with Grafana and Prometheus
