AI Investment Engineer (f/m/d)

We are looking for an AI Investment Engineer to help accelerate the use of AI across our Investments platform. The “Central AI Node” is a senior AI delivery leadership role within Investments at Allianz Global Investors. The role helps accelerate AI adoption across the investment platform by working with AI Nodes in different asset classes, investment teams, and data and technology teams. While asset-class AI Nodes focus on the priorities of their own investment areas, the Central AI Node focuses on opportunities that can be shared, scaled, and reused across multiple teams.

Your focus will be on identifying common challenges across investment teams and developing reusable solutions. Therefore the role combines investment domain expertise with hands-on AI engineering capabilities and contributes directly to solution architecture, rapid prototyping, reusable AI components, code reviews, and the industrialization of scalable AI solutions.

What you will do

Build AI Solutions

• Implement AI solutions and reusable components in collaboration with asset-class AI Nodes.
• Develop prototypes, proofs of concept, reusable AI components, shared frameworks, and the common AI code base.
• Applies engineering best practices through code reviews, testing, documentation, SDLC discipline, and CI/CD practices

Coordinate across asset classes and establish reusable AI Capabilities

• Identifies opportunities that exist across multiple investment teams and develops shared patterns, common foundations, and reusable solutions across asset classes.
• Establish standards and engineering patterns that can be leveraged across asset classes.
• Help avoid duplicate development efforts by creating solutions that can be reused and scaled.

Connect Investment and Technology

• Work closely with Investments leadership, investment professionals, AI Nodes, Product Owners, and technology teams on cross-asset AI topics.
• Help feed AI priorities into area planning, OKRs, roadmaps, and relevant sprint discussions.
• Coordinate dependencies across business and technology functions.
• Align architecture and implementation decisions with business needs and technical standards.

Grow the AI Node Community

• Share knowledge and best practices across AI Nodes.
• Support and coach more junior AI Node colleagues.
• Contribute to the evolution of AllianzGI's AI delivery capability.

What you bring

• Strong understanding of asset management or related financial services fields within an investment context.
• Deep expertise in AI technologies, tools, emerging developments, and implementation approaches.
• Experience in modern enterprise AI software delivery, including code contribution, scalable implementation, code reviews, testing,
• Strong understanding of SDLC practices, software engineering standards, reusable component design, and production-readiness requirements.
• Deep understanding of agile delivery models incl. product ownership, and collaboration between business and technology teams.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional or cross-team initiatives in complex environments.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions.
• Ability to translate strategic priorities into coordinated delivery activities, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
• Experience guiding, coaching, or functionally leading junior colleagues in complex delivery environments.

• Investment-domain translation, with the ability to connect asset-class needs, CIO priorities, and technology delivery capabilities.
• Cross-functional influencing without direct authority across investment teams, AI Nodes, Product Owners, squads, D&T, and the AI CoE.
• Reuse-oriented thinking, with a strong focus on common standards, shared foundations, and the avoidance of duplicated AI development.
