Interface Developer Intern

Pixel Systems is adding an Interface Developer Intern to our team to help build practical tools for our clients. We are currently working with a Munich-based industrial firm to modernize the software they use for managing their logistics and manufacturing schedules. In this role, you will help us build the screens and dashboards that their operations teams use every day to keep things running. This is a fully remote position that focuses on creating functional, reliable interfaces rather than flashy marketing animations.

About Pixel Systems

The Role
As an Interface Developer Intern, you will work on the front-facing side of our projects. You will spend your time building and refining the components that make up our internal tools. This is not about making things look pretty for a portfolio: it is about making sure a warehouse manager can find the data they need quickly and accurately. You will be translating wireframes into functional code and ensuring that the interface connects properly to the backend services we build.
A typical day might involve cleaning up some legacy CSS to make a dashboard more responsive, or creating a new form that allows a user to input inventory data into a Postgres database. Because we are a remote team, you will spend a lot of time documenting your work and communicating with other developers through written updates. You will also participate in our weekly client demos, where we show the progress we have made on the Munich-based industrial project and gather feedback on the tools we are building.

What you bring
We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of building things that work. Since this is an internship, we do not expect you to be a master of every framework, but we do expect you to have a solid handle on the basics. You should be comfortable writing HTML and CSS that is easy to read and maintain. You should have a basic understanding of JavaScript and how to use it to manipulate elements on a page.

Familiarity with GitHub and basic version control is a plus, as is any experience you have had working with APIs to display data on a page. We do not require specific degrees or certifications: we are more interested in seeing a project you have built or a problem you have solved with code.
