p>Gulf Associates is looking for a Junior Research Analyst to support our commercial advisory work. We are currently assisting a German logistics provider headquartered in Europe as they evaluate complex entry strategies into new markets. This is a fully remote position where you will help bridge the gap between theoretical data and the ground reality of commercial negotiations. Our firm focuses on providing senior led advice to chief executives and sovereign entities who need to make difficult decisions about capital deployment and joint ventures. We avoid generic strategy models in favor of commercial judgment that leads to actual, signed agreements.
What you will do

  • Research specific sectors to understand the competitive dynamics at play within the target environment.
  • Analyze the commercial structures and histories of potential counterparties to identify operational risks.
  • Gather and synthesize information regarding regulatory shifts that could affect investment outcomes.
  • Prepare concise summaries of market information to support senior partners during commercial negotiations.
  • Help draft internal positions that guide the German logistics firm through their partnership evaluations.
  • Monitor the actions and public statements of competitors to spot emerging trends in the market.
  • Maintain organized files of research findings to ensure the team has access to the most recent facts.
  • Support the preparation of briefing documents for meetings with regulators and commercial leaders.

What you bring

  • A strong ability to write clearly and concisely, focusing on facts rather than corporate filler.
  • Genuine commercial curiosity and an interest in how large scale deals are actually put together.
  • The discipline to verify information across multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • A basic understanding of business logic and the factors that influence a successful market entry.
  • A logical approach to organizing information, making it easy for partners to act upon.
  • High attention to detail, ensuring that every data point in a briefing is cross checked.
  • Self reliance and the ability to manage your own tasks in a fully remote work setting.
  • A university degree or equivalent foundational knowledge in business, economics, or research.
