Pharmaceutical Sales & Business Development (m/f/d) – Europe

Your mission

NAGASE (EUROPA) GmbH, part of the globally operating NAGASE Group, provides high-quality materials and specialized solutions to customers across various industries.

To strengthen our European pharmaceutical business, we are looking for an experienced Sales & Business Development professional with proven expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in pharmaceutical raw materials, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), and excipients.

In this role, you will develop customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and coordinate closely with international suppliers and our Japanese headquarters.

• Develop and manage relationships with pharmaceutical customers and suppliers across Europe
• Identify new customers and drive business development opportunities.
• Manage the sales process from customer inquiries and quotations to negotiations, orders, and delivery
• Develop sales and sourcing activities for pharmaceutical raw materials, APIs, and excipients
• Coordinate closely with Japanese headquarters and international suppliers.
• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for business growth
• Coordinate international import/export activities and related documentation
• Support compliance with relevant pharmaceutical quality and regulatory requirements, including GMP/GDP

Your profile

• Several years of relevant professional experience in pharmaceutical sales, business development, or a related commercial role within the pharmaceutical industry
• Proven experience with pharmaceutical raw materials, APIs, excipients, or closely related pharmaceutical products. This industry-specific knowledge is a mandatory requirement
• Business-fluent Japanese and English, both written and spoken. Japanese is essential for communication with headquarters and international business partners
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills
• Experience working with international customers and suppliers
• Good understanding of international trade and import/export processes
• Knowledge of GMP/GDP and pharmaceutical quality requirements
• Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field is preferred
• Proactive, commercially minded, and able to work independently in an international environment
• Willingness to travel internationally
• Based in Düsseldorf, Germany, with the possibility of remote work within Germany
• Regular presence at the Düsseldorf office is required
• Willingness to travel internationally
