Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, the company delivers COPVs from a standardized portfolio with flight heritage. The approach reduces lead time from months to days while ensuring that each tank is qualified and flight-ready. Blackwave's mission is to end COPV failure in spaceflight. The company employs more than 150 people across manufacturing facilities in Germany and Texas. More information at and the procurement platform Maintenance Technician (all genders) Garching / Full-time / Permanent employee YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES The What: Keep our production running. You make sure our machines don't stop. In a fast-scaling production environment, you take ownership of maintenance, reliability, and quick problem solving - keeping our operations stable while we grow. The Why: To end COPV failure in spaceflight. The benchmark for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Our logistics determine whether materials are in the right place at the right time. Without flow, there is no production. Without precision, there is no reliability. Without structure, there is no scaling. Logistics is the pacemaker and heart of the mission. Your tasks in detail and priorities: Maintain critical systems: Perform regular maintenance on our machines and ensure operational readiness Own machine reliability: Identify weak points early and prevent failures before they happen Support new equipment: Assist in selecting, installing, and ramping up new machines Document what matters: Keep maintenance, changes, and actions clearly and reliably documented Fix issues hands-on: Analyze faults systematically and resolve them directly on the shopfloor Work across boundaries: Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and external partners Build structure in growth: Help bring order, standards, and reliability to a rapidly growing machine park YOUR PROFILE Solid technical background: Training as a mechatronics technician, industrial mechanic, electrician, or similar Hands-on experience: Experience in maintenance of industrial machines and equipment Technical versatility: Ideally familiar with machines such as CNC (milling/turning), presses, robots/cobots, or HVAC systems Structured working style: You work cleanly, stay organized, and document your work properly Problem-solving mindset: You go to the root cause and fix issues sustainably Hands-on mentality: You step in where needed - even beyond your core area Communication skills: Comfortable working with internal teams and external service providers Language skills: German required (at least B2), English at working level (at least B1) WHAT WE OFFER High level of autonomy & real impact: Be part of shaping our high-tech production landscape Flexible working hours & remote work options based on mutual agreement Startup mindset meets aerospace innovation: Flat hierarchies, fast decisions, and space for your ideas Choose your own benefit: Germany ticket, Egym Wellpass, or a tax-free Give Card Healthy & social lunch culture: Enjoy fresh meals during shared lunch breaks Stunning views: Wind down on our rooftop terrace with breathtaking views of the Alps in Taufkirchen or enjoy our indoor garden in Garching-Hochbrück Growth opportunities: Work on exciting projects and learn from inspiring people We live our team culture: From tech talks to team events and after-work gatherings - we celebrate success togeth Please refer to reference number YF-49788 for your application.
